Ortho Drs Visit

AS promised I'd give an update on the visit. It went OK I guess.. He suggests getting off the celebrex trying aladil and more cortisone injections in the shoulder and elbows . Unfortunately with having chrons disease it doesn't only effect just your intestines but also the nerves, tendons not to mention everything else in your body.. Just another complications.. To do surgery I wouldn't have much benefit from because it will continue to be chronic but knitting is a good thing he said because it does keep them moving. The tendons will continue to tighten up just do more stretchs of the hands & fingers before getting out of bed, take hot showers and try this round of treatment for a couple weeks and go back to see him again then. Other then that hope for the best! He's surprised that my hips, knees, ankles feet & toes aren't worse. Of course whiile I was at his office.. I was having a bad day...
YEAH I don't have to stop knitting but deal with the pain and take this medication before bed to rest the nerves better while sleeping.. It knocked me out last night thats for sure!
Like my DRs continue to tell me in a nice way alls we can do at this point is treat systems in the order of borthersome at the time and hope for the best and move on to the next.. In another words suck it up and deal with it heres some more drugs!! I hate taking drugs of any kind... Then afterwords I went to 7 different medical supply stores, driving from town to town as well as CVS & Walmarts as well.. Haven't found any gloves at all. So I'm trying to bid on some on Ebay amnd someone keeps out bidding me..! Wish me luck! I'll try anything that helps. I just can't give up knitting! I knit everyday!
Of course I can always use a Fentnayl pain patch as needed too.. (wear upt o 72 hours at a time) ;o((((( Then I can't function and get very ill after about 6 hours!....

Now I'm on a short knitting break pending seeing the ortho doc on Friday about my hands, forearms, wrists & fingers cramping, hurting swelling pain!! It hurts so much to knit....but I keep on going I've been on short I mean real short knititng breaks a couple hours here or there, but I still knit. Its so hard to completely stop. I'm sure some of you out there can relate to that. Anyways during my research I found these three types but can't decide on which I should get. I can find them cheaper somewhere else online I'm sure from what I hear but doing a quick search here they are.. need opinions on which would be best and most helpful so I can continue to knit, spin & type....I stopped the cortisone injections for tendonitis (elbows), sick of the steriods in the long term it makes it worse anywway and the complication of side effects. I have found a comfortable position of keeping my arms very close to my body and have my elbows rest slightly on a pillow besides me while knitting.. Whatever works right!
Lots of knitty people have recommend these to me from knitty boards now which ones should I look into more.. Ohhhhh Can't decide!! Can't even find them here at the drug store Wal-Mart any other places I maybe able to find some??

What to do with Josephine?

Well once again I ripped & re-casted on for Josephine again! Someone had said the pattern had a mistake on row 2 after several attempts of knitting a pattern repeat then ripping again anad again I think I got it finally but am going to rip again! Still I've NEVER in my life had such a tough time getting going on anything like this.. Hopefully this is it! It's not a thick dense fabric as I expected from Cascade wool but it's so much softer then all there skeins I've used hmm I kinda wonder if this lot wasn't correct with the fiber because usually it's kinda scratchy and much thicker fabric when knitted not this it's sooooos soooooo soft???It's like knitting with a totally different yarn all together. I wonder if it's the color? Anyway still I wanted to use the yarn for it but now I'm not sure then I'd be stuck on what to do for my Josephine unless I order some sierra from knit picks? What a dilema! I only tried about a half dozen different yarns before deciding on cascade eco wool. Now stuck with all these other yarns...heeeheeehee Ok with me I'll do soemthing else with them

Then I spun up the fiber I received from my SP5 on knittyIt's 100% Merino, handcarded and dyed for me in her colorway called Fern. It's beautiful! I love it I ended up getting 2 skeins, 1 67 yards and 1 60 for a total of 127 yards! I love the variations of the greens such soothing colors

Then I finished plying off these skeins I had on my bobbins a sample of some perdigree dog a friend hobby loft had given me to try I ended up with 30 yards, 82 yards of the light brown llama & 56.6 yards of romney from some fleece I had. All of which are between a fingering to sport weight 3 ply

Now I'm working on spinning some quiviet.....

January 1st! ~ Polar Swim!

Yes, theres an actual Polar swim in Onset, MA each year. Not real Polar bears but just some local people who will do this sort of thing I guess.... The local fire department raised over $4000 this year local business also suporrt this and so many more. Well 2 of my husbands friends signed up for the swim.... So we had to go, it was off thew pier & freezing temperatures that for sure. I didn't get down on the beach but stayed up front on the edge of the pier with other spectaters so the pictures are that great but here they are

With ambulances, EMT and fire dept on stand by, the sirens & horns go off then Look at these fools runinning into the cold ocean.. OUCH!!!

and a funny one with a blow up doll took a swim together all the under water too! Brave soul thats for sure.
Some say these guys will have no sexual activity for almost a week! There was 1 woman who did the swim to.. yikes.. no it wasn't me althoguh I have done this once in my life but in Febuary at Revere, MA a long time ago.. Never again! Certianly is an experience of a lifetime

The event is all over very quickly and coffee, donuts & pizza are served back at the fire station..

Happy New Years!
