My car!

Finally my car is done! I got the call from the dealership yesterday late afternoon! After several promises of getting it back weeks ago... Finally! Well first the water leaks where at the dash seams of the frame on the firewall, 3 of them then they ran tests again and found more along the firewall front & rear behind the wiper, cowl found a couple more leaks. Then it appear to have never been seeled by the heater box. They had to use two types of sealants inspect, water test again desinfectant and some other chemical to prevent mold, replace the entire spongey stuff under the interior rugs (was wet like the river) replaced the entire interior so basically my car was stripped sealed and resealed then put back together from scratch... Geezzz.. I wonder if my car was made on a Monday or Friday last year when it was made by the manufactuer? hmmmm I 've been told never to purchase a vehicle that was made on a Monday because the workers are to tired and/or hung over from the weekend and not on a Firday either because the workers work in a hurry half ass to get out of the factory quicker....Mine had to have been built on one of these days since the whole seal that keeps the metal frame together and give the vehicle the leway to trun and move as it's driven was forgotten!@! Isnt' that a comforting thought! NOT!! I've driven over 18000 miles last year since I bought it and from MA-OH and back too with my family, the KIDS! What if it ever fell apart on us! I can't even think about all the what if's and safety issues.. I'm not sure of them all and I didn't inquire! Just glad it's all back together in one piece and I don't have to drive a rental any more..... YEAH!Oh and the best part they gave me a FREE oil, filter & lube job.....a freebie because they had my car for so long..

Late Start for the Knitting Olympics

cast on late last night but got just past the cuff on socks working cuff to toe with cascade fixation.... looks as though we have a little snow and I'm to sore to shovel my way out so staying home ... maybe I'll get to work on these socks today..
Not a great picture but I wasn't going any further then opening at the back door in my PJs.. you see see the snow is up to that first beam of the back fence and still coming down. Good ole New England Nor'Easter

Tomorrow I'm suppose to bring my car back to the dealership to finish sealing up the frame leaks and replace all the interior...So hopefully the roads will be clear by morning. The storm arrived later then expected during the night sometime and is expected to continue throughout the day. Good thing we still have power.. We usually loose it.

Updates, HELP ME -Splurge buying and HUGE THANK YOU SP7!

Well since I've been taking a break from knitting a little bit, dont' get me wrong I still try to knit a little every day anyway...heeheee
anyway
Go figure not even a year old vehicle yet and has 2" deep puddles in the back on the floor and under the passenger side seat is dreanched? A couple weeks ago this started at first I thought one of the kids split a drink. I cleaned it.. a couple days later we go out in the morning again! More I thought well it rained maybe someone didn't put the window up all the way... A few days later again!??
I'm thinking I must be loosing my mid?? then thought well I forgot to lock it maybe someone vandlized it... hmmm again this week??? Nope I'm not losing my mind.... Then of course everyday the inside of my windows fog up and get icy on the inside mind you! yesterday I dropped in off at the dealership. They had a rental awaiting for me, a New Neon with 3900 miles on it.. Cool!!!
I phone them this afternoon to find out what was going on we all thought for sure it was the heating core... Well they said nope and they can't figure it out either but not to worry, they've been running water over it all day and still can't find out where or how the water is getting into the car?? The service manager even said that all the interior and rubs will have to be ripped out and replaces all under warranty!! Bumber to bumber for 36k miles... YEAH I only have 22K on it....They should even pick up the rental and get use to it because I'll probaly be in it through the weekend maybe longer.... YIKES!!!

This could only happen to me!! Whats the odds zero to ziltch!! Yep that'd be me!! I'm starting to really miss the car... I dont' like this one, only one door has the keyhole can't lock or unlock it from any door except the drivers??

I can't beleive they can't find where on earth the water is coming from? It's a 5 Star dealer too? I hope theres no mold growing and we catch it early enough and all fixed before that happens!

So of course me I go splurge buying.. for what I don't know not even sure what I was thinking either....Definatley completly out of character for me thats for sure
Check these out!
First a skein of some German yarn Iceland by Merks & kattens a wool/ary/poly blend really neat bulky yarn, skein of It's Kool and 2 skeins of Filali fantasia Jewel

Ortho Drs Visit

AS promised I'd give an update on the visit. It went OK I guess.. He suggests getting off the celebrex trying aladil and more cortisone injections in the shoulder and elbows . Unfortunately with having chrons disease it doesn't only effect just your intestines but also the nerves, tendons not to mention everything else in your body.. Just another complications.. To do surgery I wouldn't have much benefit from because it will continue to be chronic but knitting is a good thing he said because it does keep them moving. The tendons will continue to tighten up just do more stretchs of the hands & fingers before getting out of bed, take hot showers and try this round of treatment for a couple weeks and go back to see him again then. Other then that hope for the best! He's surprised that my hips, knees, ankles feet & toes aren't worse. Of course whiile I was at his office.. I was having a bad day...
YEAH I don't have to stop knitting but deal with the pain and take this medication before bed to rest the nerves better while sleeping.. It knocked me out last night thats for sure!
Like my DRs continue to tell me in a nice way alls we can do at this point is treat systems in the order of borthersome at the time and hope for the best and move on to the next.. In another words suck it up and deal with it heres some more drugs!! I hate taking drugs of any kind... Then afterwords I went to 7 different medical supply stores, driving from town to town as well as CVS & Walmarts as well.. Haven't found any gloves at all. So I'm trying to bid on some on Ebay amnd someone keeps out bidding me..! Wish me luck! I'll try anything that helps. I just can't give up knitting! I knit everyday!
Of course I can always use a Fentnayl pain patch as needed too.. (wear upt o 72 hours at a time) ;o((((( Then I can't function and get very ill after about 6 hours!....

What's New
Home

Now I'm on a short knitting break pending seeing the ortho doc on Friday about my hands, forearms, wrists & fingers cramping, hurting swelling pain!! It hurts so much to knit....but I keep on going I've been on short I mean real short knititng breaks a couple hours here or there, but I still knit. Its so hard to completely stop. I'm sure some of you out there can relate to that. Anyways during my research I found these three types but can't decide on which I should get. I can find them cheaper somewhere else online I'm sure from what I hear but doing a quick search here they are.. need opinions on which would be best and most helpful so I can continue to knit, spin & type....I stopped the cortisone injections for tendonitis (elbows), sick of the steriods in the long term it makes it worse anywway and the complication of side effects. I have found a comfortable position of keeping my arms very close to my body and have my elbows rest slightly on a pillow besides me while knitting.. Whatever works right!
Lots of knitty people have recommend these to me from knitty boards now which ones should I look into more.. Ohhhhh Can't decide!! Can't even find them here at the drug store Wal-Mart any other places I maybe able to find some??

Fingerless Therapeutic Gloves

In the meantime I'm knitting very little at a time with breaks in-between rows.... sooo very sad ;o(( on the up side I ordered some regia silk which is on the way to me now can't wait! I'm so excited going to make socks... I have no problem fondling fiber & yarn......

What to do with Josephine?

Well once again I ripped & re-casted on for Josephine again! Someone had said the pattern had a mistake on row 2 after several attempts of knitting a pattern repeat then ripping again anad again I think I got it finally but am going to rip again! Still I've NEVER in my life had such a tough time getting going on anything like this.. Hopefully this is it! It's not a thick dense fabric as I expected from Cascade wool but it's so much softer then all there skeins I've used hmm I kinda wonder if this lot wasn't correct with the fiber because usually it's kinda scratchy and much thicker fabric when knitted not this it's sooooos soooooo soft???It's like knitting with a totally different yarn all together. I wonder if it's the color? Anyway still I wanted to use the yarn for it but now I'm not sure then I'd be stuck on what to do for my Josephine unless I order some sierra from knit picks? What a dilema! I only tried about a half dozen different yarns before deciding on cascade eco wool. Now stuck with all these other yarns...heeeheeehee Ok with me I'll do soemthing else with them

Brazil Hardwood Needles

Well here they are my very own handmade by me 2 sets of 6 DPN, sizes 9 & 10. 7.5-8" long hard to get them all exact

I think I'm going to surprise a certain someone with them for the SP round but can't tell you which one theres 2 just starting could be a lucky one from knitty or blogger, or both~! One just never knows when they might receive a RAOK in there mailbox. Going to be making more in the next 2-4 weeks

Completed over Holiday weekend

This is how I spent my long weekend! I managed to get a couple soap sock bags completed for a partial order

Then I spun up the fiber I received from my SP5 on knittyIt's 100% Merino, handcarded and dyed for me in her colorway called Fern. It's beautiful! I love it I ended up getting 2 skeins, 1 67 yards and 1 60 for a total of 127 yards! I love the variations of the greens such soothing colors

Then I finished plying off these skeins I had on my bobbins a sample of some perdigree dog a friend hobby loft had given me to try I ended up with 30 yards, 82 yards of the light brown llama & 56.6 yards of romney from some fleece I had. All of which are between a fingering to sport weight 3 ply

Now I'm working on spinning some quiviet.....

January 1st! ~ Polar Swim!

Yes, theres an actual Polar swim in Onset, MA each year. Not real Polar bears but just some local people who will do this sort of thing I guess.... The local fire department raised over $4000 this year local business also suporrt this and so many more. Well 2 of my husbands friends signed up for the swim.... So we had to go, it was off thew pier & freezing temperatures that for sure. I didn't get down on the beach but stayed up front on the edge of the pier with other spectaters so the pictures are that great but here they are
At noon a driving team headed in first

With ambulances, EMT and fire dept on stand by, the sirens & horns go off then Look at these fools runinning into the cold ocean.. OUCH!!!

and a funny one with a blow up doll took a swim together all the under water too! Brave soul thats for sure.
Some say these guys will have no sexual activity for almost a week! There was 1 woman who did the swim to.. yikes.. no it wasn't me althoguh I have done this once in my life but in Febuary at Revere, MA a long time ago.. Never again! Certianly is an experience of a lifetime

The event is all over very quickly and coffee, donuts & pizza are served back at the fire station..

Happy New Years!
